Oral dosage:
Adults and children: 200,000 - 400,000 units PO as oral
suspension (swished in the mouth) 4-5 times a day for up to 14 days. Continue
treatment for at least 48 hours after symptoms are resolved.
Infants: 200,000 units of nystatin PO as an oral suspension four
times a day or 100,000 units as an oral suspension applied to each side of mouth
4 times per day.
Neonates: 100,000 units PO as an oral suspension 4
times per day; or 50,000 units as an oral suspension applied to
each side of mouth 4 times per day.
Patients with renal impairment:
No dosage adjustment needed.
Contraindications & Precautions :
* Pregnancy.
Nystatin oral suspension is classified as pregnancy category C.
The effects on the fetus from administration during pregnancy are unknown.
Nystatin oral suspension should be used during pregnancy only when clearly
needed.

* Abdominal pain * Diarrhea
* Nausea/vomiting * Skin irritation
* Urticaria
Instructions to patient :
Take drug for 2 days after symptoms have disappeared or as
directed.
Advise patient with oral candidiasis not to use mouthwash, which
may alter normal flora and promote infections.
