The same dosage applies to adults and children over 2 years :
- Enterobiasis:
One tablet (5ml oral suspension) of WORMOX given as a
single dose and it is advised that the treatment be repeated after 2 and 4
weeks.
- Ascariasis, trichuriasis, hookworm and mixed infections:
One tablet (5ml oral suspension) of WORMOX b.i.d. in the
morning and in the evening for 3 consecutive days.
- Taeniasis and strongyloides :
Two tablets (10ml oral suspension) of WORMOX b.i.d. in
the morning and in the evening for 3 consecutive days.
The
tablets can be swallowed or crushed
and mixed with food . No specific procedures such as fasting or
using of laxative are required.
Shake the suspension bottle well before use.
Side effects :
Transient symptoms of abdominal pain and diarrhoea may occur in
cases of massive infection and expulsion of worms.
Contraindications :
This drug is contraindicated in pregnant women and children
under 2 years and in persons who have hypersensitivity to mebendazole.
